APK is no longer an unknown term to the majority of people, especially among Android community. With Android users, sideloading APK files from third-party sources seems to be the best option when they have trouble with the download process from Google Play. This article will provide a completed guide to download and install APK files on both Android mobiles and PCs. 

To ensure that all of you can install APK successfully in any case, this guide will be divided into small parts, each part will cover the installation of one APK type which are among normal APK, APK with OBB, APK Bundle, and APK with variants. Therefore, make sure that you follow the right instruction. 

Install APK on Android mobiles

Before downloading APK file, remember to enable the “Unknown sources” to help your phone accept sources that are not from the Google Play Store. Steps to do this process will vary slightly from version to version. Head over to this post and follow the guide.

Normal APK

  • Head over to the website of APKTrending.com, then search for the app you want to download.

  • After choosing a desired one, select “Download APK” button. You will see a pop-up warning on the screen, but don’t’ worry, tap on “Download” to continue the process.

  • Access the APK file that you’ve successfully downloaded and choose “Install” to start the installation.

  • Finally, tap “Open” to start enjoying the app.

APK with OBB

  • Step 1: Our post will take PUBG Mobile Lite as an example. Visit download apk website, search for PUBG Mobile Lite and choose "Download APK+ OBB", then wait until the game is successfully downloaded.

  • Step 2: Open ES File Explorer, select ‘internal storage’--> ‘download’---> Long-press on the zip file to select it-> click on More (three vertical dots at the right bottom) & select ‘EXTRACT TO’.

  • Step 3: Tap Choose Path-> sd card -> Android-> OBB -> OK. Note: If the Obb folder isn't available, then you need to create a new one by tapping the Plus button as shown in the image below. Then, rename the file to OBB -> then choose OK.

  • Step 4: After choosing the path to store the OBB file, click OK to continue. Now, wait for ES File Explorer to decompress the OBB file.

  • Step 5: Go back to Internal Storage --> Android --> Obb-> click on the apk file of the app-> Install.

  • Step 6: After that, click 'Install' and then wait for a few seconds to complete the process.

  • Step 7: Once the installation has finished, you will see 'app installed' on the screen. Now, just tap Open to use the game/app.

APK Bundle

  • Access https://apktrending.com/ and search for Paper.io 2.

  • Tap on “Download APK Bundle” and wait for few minutes to finish the download.

  • Open ES File Explorer > Internal Storage>Download and pay attention to the zip file of Paper.io 2.

  • Long-press on this file > choose More at the bottom right > Extract To> OK to decompress it.

  • Open Split APKs Installer app (SAI) > choose Install APKs

  • Choose the folder that includes Paper.io 2 file. It’s usually on the Download Folder.

  • Pay attention to the normal file (not the zip file), tap on it. You will see the components inside that file.

  • Tick all the boxes and tap Select.

  • The system will ask you “Do you want to install this application? It does not require any special access”. Choose Install to continue.

  • Wait for a few seconds until you see a notification that your app has been installed. Tap Open to use it immediately.

APK with variants

Install APK on PCs

To download and install an APK file on PC, you need the support of Android emulator software. There are many software today but we would like to use BlueStacks - which is the most popular one. There are 2 methods for you to download and install APKs on your PC.

Normal APK

Method 1: Download apks through an Internet browser on PC

  • Open any Internet browsers on your PC and access ApkTovi.com

  • Search for the app you want to choose a suitable result.

  • Click on “Download APK” to start the download process.

  • After successfully downloaded the file, open BlueStacks.

  • Now, open the folder which contains the APK file that you have just downloaded (it is usually on the Download folder on PC). Long-click on this file and drag it to the main interface of BlueStacks. Wait for a few seconds and then you will see that the app has been installed on BlueStacks.

Method 2: Download apks through a browser of BlueStacks

  • Open BlueStacks, click on the arrow “More Apps”, then click on the symbol of Google Chrome.

  • Access the website Apktrending.com, search for the app you want and choose a suitable result.

  • Click “Download APK” to start downloading. You will see a warning but don’t worry, click OK to continue.

  • After successfully downloaded, click Install to install the app.

  • Finally, tap Open to open the app in BlueStacks.
